Eternal life is God’s gift to mankind, provided via Jesus Christ, that enables them to endlessly live with God.
Ecclesiastes 7:20: For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.
No human on Earth (except Jesus) is perfectly righteous, always good, and never sinful.
Romans 3:23: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Every human (except Jesus) has sinned against God and is far less glorious than God.
Revelation 21:8: But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
The wicked who reject God’s gift of eternal life will experience his eternal wrath in the lake of fire, which is the 2nd death.
John 3:36: He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
Believers in God experience eternal life; unbelievers don’t experience that life, but face God’s eternal wrath.
John 5:24: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
Believers in God hear his word and trust him for salvation; they are no longer condemned (Romans 8:1) or spiritually dead (Titus 3:3), but are granted eternal life.
1 John 5:12: He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
Believers have God the Son (Jesus) and, therefore, eternal life, whereas unbelievers lack the Son and, therefore, eternal life.
Romans 6:23: For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
