Christmas is a holiday that celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ (God the Son).
December 25 (Western and some Eastern cultures)
January (other cultures)
Matthew 1:16: And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
Jesus’ earthly parents are Joseph and Mary; however, his heavenly father is God the Father.
Luke 2:7: And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
Mary’s firstborn is a son, Jesus, who was wrapped in clothes and placed in a manger. Jesus being born in a manger represents humility, and Jesus humbled himself to identify with sinners.
John 1:14: And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Jesus Christ, who is God the Son, became a human being and revealed God the Father to people through his attributes.
Luke 2:11: For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
Jesus was born to save the world and invite himself as Lord. People who open their hearts’ doors invite Jesus to rule over them.
John 3:16: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
God loves people, so he came to Earth to die on a cross for the sins of the world. He gives eternal life, ultimately in the new heavens and new earth, to people who believe (trust) in him to save them from their sins.
Every human (except Jesus) has sinned against God, so Jesus came to Earth as a man to die for the sins of the world. He then rose from the dead with a glorified body and returned to the 3rd heaven. Anyone who, with a repentant and willing heart, trusts in Jesus to save them from their sins is forgiven of all their sins and has eternal life with God.
