Everything that is good comes from God.
Psalm 34:10: The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.
Even lions may lack and hunger, but God will provide good to his children.
Psalm 84:11: For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
God gives good (including glory, grace, light, and protection) to the righteous.
Matthew 5:45: That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
Loving enemies and praying for persecutors are characteristics of God’s children, because God gives sunlight and rain to the righteous and wicked.
Proverbs 15:29: The Lord is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.
God hears the prayers of the righteous, but he is far from the wicked, because they reject him, which means rejecting his goodness.
Isaiah 59:2: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
Sin relationally separates people from God and, therefore, his goodness.
Revelation 21:8: But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
The wicked will be cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, which is the 2nd death; they will be separated from God and experience none of his goodness.
Psalm 33:5: He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.
James 1:17: Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
